Broth is a foul

This fine meal at The Clerkenwell Kitchen is described as gammon ‘broth’. Anyone hoping for a plate of pale liquid … and there are such people out there – people recovering from gastroenteritis, or trying out the 5:2 diet … such a person would cry ‘foul!’ (but very faintly and without the exclamation mark) because, as you can see from the photo, this dish is anything but broth.

To be fair, even before I could complain, the chefs themselves did realise their appalling error in filling my plate with delicious meat and vegetables, and they gave me an extra jug of broth to balance things out.
