Minestrone soup with Parmesan crisps
Split pea and ham soup (my nearly favourite soup – see next)
My absolute favourite: pea and ham soup – the green pea version. There were lumps of ham like icebergs floating in this one! There was even a bone on one bit, so it was a real home-cooked ham, not vacuum-packed from Iceland.
Butter bean and pancetta soup with half a ham sandwich. (It was a special deal.)
Mushroom and barley soup. Barley is a guilty pleasure of mine. I really like the texture of barley in soups and Irish stew.
Beetroot soup with crème fraiche and mint.
A mushroom soup again. But that’s the beauty of a place like The Clerkenwell Kitchen, every batch of soup is diffferent.
